Breeding of betta fish

 

It's time to begin breeding once you have everything, along with a pair of well-maintained and fit betta fish. It is perfect for hatching the fish throughout the weekend to monitor the reproduction and koi betta care carefully.

Koi Bettas shouldn't be kept in water containing many fish nitrite, nitrate, or ammonia. Even at high levels, they are still more resilient than most fish. A tip for koi Betta care is to keep them healthy and active, though aim for 0 ppm at all times. Koi Bettas also favor water with a pH range of 5.5 to 7.0, which is neutral to acidic.

The breeding tank's setup

·    Water should add to the breeding tank's bottom until it reaches a depth of around 5 inches. Add some water de-chlorinator to the water to make it healthy for your fish.

·    Place the aquarium heater into the tank. You must set it up horizontally to keep it submerged. Use the model's instructions if not.

·    Add that since the male can build his bubble home on a small bubble wrap or some Styrofoam. A rectangle of two to three inches is the optimum size.

Changing the breeding tank's pair

Enter the tank housing the breeding male betta fish. It should be set to the same temperature and parameters as his regular tank to avoid complications. He should always contact the female first to stake out his area. Test the water first before putting your fish.

Add the female to the mating tank after about a day. Make sure to keep her from the male fish in the mating box.

Describe the breeding pair

After about a day, the male Betta should have built a large bubble nest in the aquarium. Now the female must take out of the mating cage.

Observe the fish. The male would pursue and attack her to persuade the female betta fish to mate. If he starts acting aggressively, you might have to separate the two. Give the pair a chance to spawn during the day, then spend the next night keeping the female alone in the mating tank, also koi betta care.

Spawning

When the female Betta is ready to spawn, she will approach the male Betta by his bubble nest.

The pair will circle each other until they can mate. When the male embraces the female, the female will release her fertilized eggs. Unlike guppies and other livebearers, betta eggs are externally fertilized. Even though it can take several hours, ensure it's all going according to plan by constantly checking on the fish.

Dispense with the female Betta fish.

Once the eggs have been laid, the female should be put back in her tank. Because female bettas frequently eat their eggs, the male will often get aggressive toward her.

The female may slightly beat at this point. One can use an aquarium antibiotic in a different tank or give her a light salt bath.

Hatching

The male tangerine koi betta fish will continue guarding the eggs until they hatch, and the young fish swim around freely. It often takes three days. Until the baby fish can first be identified by their tails, the male fish will remain working to keep all of the hatching young inside the nest. Remove the male Betta once all the fries can swim on their own.
